The conference has three tracks: Waste/Food Waste, Gender Equality and Digitalization. We talk to academics, NGOs and the private sector to identify the current problem areas of each issue.
We structure the information gained about the problem areas and turn these into specific questions to use at the conference.
Experts will introduce the background of the issue you chose. You will work in a group of six on a challenge of this issue supported by the experts. The aim is to come up with solutions in the outputs of: social businesses, app/websites, and educational frameworks!
Our team will evaluate the outcomes and develop an action plan on the implementation of the chosen idea(s).
Conferences do not have to end in just inspiration and empowerment. This is what sets us apart! Our team will implement the best ideas along with regular progress reports.

Challenge presented at ODTC ’18: How do you successfully create awareness of data privacy and rights of minors online in a scalable way?
Output chosen by participant group: Educational Framework
Idea from ODTC ’18: “Your online footprint” – a workshop that outlines the digital footprint of minors.
Result: We have implemented this idea in the form of a workshop in our program Mission Liftoff, with access to 40+ schools in Vienna.
Mission Liftoff is a program that helps teachers teach theirs students about sustainability, gender equality and challenges of digitalization. This happens in two ways; one, the PRIME MOVERS team does a workshop for your class on one of these topics, or teachers can download our workshops as lesson plans to facilitate the workshops on their own. The lesson plans are designed for teachers who are not experts on the issues.
